Happy Holi!

Don’t know about you but when I think of India, the first thing that comes to mind is a burst of colors in an kaleidoscopic spiraling flow. Ok I’m weird, but imagine the fun I could have in a celebration of color festival… in India.
It’s real, and it’s called Holi. It’s held at the end of winter (or the last winter full moon), which is around the end of February, beginning of March. Since there’s no such festivity in Romania (boo) I was thinking of starting one of my own. What could be more fun than walking on the streets of your home town spraying people with colors! Not to mention turning the whole city into a studio, where everything bursts into color. We have something somewhat similar, but it involves perfume… and it’s kinda hard on insects.

Anyway, you can check out the photos on flickr for this event, (thank you dey, Jishnu Nandy, mukesh shahand and KnaPix) and just see just how much fun colors can be. I think I’ll just go out and spray colors tonight, I’m sure I’ll get a beautifully colored eye in return. Happy Holi!
